Is unlimited hosting good deal?

There are a lot of hosting providers who offer unlimited hosting. Do you think it’s true that there is unlimited bandwidth – unlimited storage space, unlimited addon domain? What’s your opinion about these unlimited hosting plans?

Do you consider that could be possible the unlimited hosting, when nowadays we talk a lot about limited resources, like limited silicon, iron, aluminium or limited mother board, connecting cables or computer RAM. Is real the unlimited hosting? We guarantee that this is false.

Do you think that unlimited hosting is just a fraud?

We don’t claim that unlimited hosting is actually fraud. Take for example the bank system: your money is at the bank which dealing the safety of your cash deposit and all this time you can withdraw your money anytime. But what happens if every customer wants to withdraw their money at once at the same time? Do you consider that the banks could make the cash withdrawal, can perform their duties? For sure the answer is no! (In most cases these cash deposits are used for other purposes by the banks).

We gave this example, because like the banks hoped that customers will withdraw small amounts of cash at the same time, in the same way hosting companies are sure that hosting users will don’t need at the same time too much hosting power; so they say that they have an offer of unlimited hosting. In this way hosting companies with special features (bandwidth pipes, computer servers, manpower… etc) promise that they offer unlimited hosting when in the fact this couldn’t be possible.

Should believe in unlimited bandwidth/storage?

The storage space and bandwidth are one of the most relevant features of a web host, so these could influence a lot your decision. Does deserve to choose an unlimited hosting? The answer is yes; if the hosting company is serious and fulfills his promises and obligations.

But don’t forget that the hosting bandwidth and disk storage are not everything to have success with your website. The company’s reputation and his capacity could be more relevant features than the hosting bandwidth and storage capacity. If you can run just two MySQL database do you think it deserve to have unlimited disk storage? What’s the meaning to have unlimited bandwidth if your server doesn’t has a very good processing power to support your website attributes?
